Buddy Amoroso continues to campaign

Rep. Hunter Greene succeeded in his second run for family court judge in East Baton Rouge. Greene received 67 percent of the vote, while incumbent Judge Annette Lasalle received 32 percent. Republican East Baton Rouge Councilperson Buddy Amoroso announced his intentions to run in September and quickly began fundraising for the House seat. Greene was already scheduled to step down in 2014 due to term limits.

According to an article in the Advocate, Susan Nelson is looking to challenge Amoroso for this seat. Nelson is the former spokesperson for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System and the former communications director for the Louisiana Democratic Party.

Qualifying begins January 7th and ends at 4:30 pm on January 9th. The primary election date is February 21st.
